I am so thankful that Coach Erbe is working with my daughter. His knowledge of the game of Volleyball and student-athletes are unmatched. Through his training, my daughter increased in her skill as a player, developed strong leadership skills, and has been motivated to work harder on conditioning. It’s amazing to watch him work with a team. He expects more from his players than any coach I’ve seen and they give their all because he cultivates an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect. He has the ability to pull the very best from his players and works with them in a way that they want to give it. You will often hear him tell parents “Just get out of the way and let your daughter decide what she wants”. That was hard advice to take, but as soon as I did it, I saw her grow on and off the court.
— Christina Thelen (mother of a player who has trained with coach Erbe)

I had the privilege of being part of Chuck Erbe’s first recruiting class at Michigan State University in 1993. Committing to play volleyball under his instruction was life changing for me. I will never forget my meeting with him as a timid freshman when he told me that I had the potential to become an All American. Although I didn’t believe him at the time, I put my trust in him. I came into Michigan State as a raw athlete with only a few years of volleyball experience, and he turned me into a two time All-American and USA National Team volleyball player.

I’ve had the honor of playing volleyball at the highest level in the world, and Chuck is the best technical coach I’ve ever played for. He not only transformed me as a volleyball player, he turned our entire program around at Michigan State. Within two years, he took our team from the bottom of the Big Ten and led us to two Big Ten Championships and a Final Four appearance.

I was thrilled to hear that Chuck was coming out of retirement to coach again as he has so much knowledge and experience to share. He’s been such a positive influence in my life and I don’t only respect him as a coach, but he has become a good friend over the years. It would be an amazing opportunity for any young player to be coached by Chuck and learn from the best.

Coach Erbe’s knowledge of volleyball, combined with his exceptional ability to teach, make him uniquely capable of helping dedicated young athletes master the skills and knowledge required to successfully compete at the highest level of volleyball. I have watched players make dramatic improvements in their volleyball skills by working with him. As a high school coach, I had the opportunity to learn from the master, Coach Chuck Erbe. Never did I imagine that my own daughter would have the opportunity to train with him one day. Chuck is the cream of the crop. He breaks down fundamental skills in a way that is imperative for the success of your athlete. If your child is dedicated to the sport and desires to reach her full potential, Coach Erbe’s training is for you!

Within minutes of stepping onto the court with Coach Erbe I knew this was the way training was supposed to be. The freedom that comes from knowing that you are under the tutelage of one of the top coaches in the nation allows you to let go of everything else and simply show up to receive coaching and play volleyball. I never needed to question Coach Erbe’s motives. His training allows me to be the best athlete, student, and person I can be.
— Sophie Shields (high school student-athlete)

As a middle hitter I never thought back row was an option for me. Coach Erbe not only taught me how to pass, but also gave me an opportunity to play all around. Coach Erbe requires your best effort and is incredibly knowledgeable. He taught me to be a better player and a better person.

Chuck Erbe is one of the greatest training coaches in the history of volleyball. I have known him for over 40 years and he knows how to get the best out of a player through his teaching of the fundamentals necessary for on and off the court success, both physically and mentally. He has won both NCAA and AIAW titles as well as coaching internationally, so he knows what it takes for a player to win.

As a former player who was coached collegiately by Chuck and his First Assistant at Michigan State I have had first hand knowledge of his excellence in the coaching profession. Any volleyball athlete who desires to learn, excel and reach their potential will benefit tremendously from the clear and fundamentally sound training provided by Coach Erbe. In my collegiate playing days I was a First Team All Big Ten selection and an All American under Coach Erbe’s teaching. He has excelled at all levels within the sport of volleyball and has a proven track record of building a player’s confidence as she learns, trains and grows as a young woman. You have a unique opportunity to learn from the best teacher in the sport.
